Why we put Fleetguard filters in our kits
The 03-12 Cummins trucks came with a 7 micron OEM fuel filter that is only about 60% efficient removing contaminants. That's right only 60% efficient! The inadequate filtration along with increasingly bad fuel, is why they are notorious for taking out injectors. The injector manufacture for these engines recommend a minimum of 4 micron for ultimate protection. A 7 micron particle has been shown to be the main cause of accelerated pump and injector wear in these High Pressure Common Rails producing upwards of 29,000psi. These 7 micron particles blasting through your injectors at that kind of pressure results in premature failure, which can easily cost upwards of $5,000 in repair bills. In fact, OEM injectors are typically on backorder due to so many being sold worldwide. We had the CAT 1R-0750 filter in our kits for over 10 years, because they are a great filter and are readily available. Now the CAT filters are considered an older filter-media technology compared to the advancement in filtration over the last several years. We have also seen fake knockoffs out there in the marketplace that can cause issues and leave you less protected. The newer NanoNet technology found in Fleetguard fuel filters is now the most up to date, advanced technology and superior protection you can get. The result of this Nanonet technology gives it a 2 micron rating at over 99.6% efficiency! Do your own research on these Fleetguard Nanonet filters. For the low cost and the easy availability, you will be pressed to find a better filter out there.

Our Cummins Dual-Filter Kit is for both better fuel and water filtration and is mounted nice and tight up to the cab, inside the frame rail utilizing the rear seat bolts on the drivers seat. This kit requires NO drilling or welding. You simply bolt this on over the frame rail to the rear seat bolts and connect the hoses to your stock fuel line using the supplied fittings. The kit includes everything in the picture below. The installation is very straight-forward and takes approximately 45-60 minutes to complete. The bracket is laser cut 3/16" steel and comes in a black, double powder-coated finish.
Our Cummins Single-Filter Kit sandwiches the frame rail, so NO drilling or welding is required. You simply bolt this on inside the frame rail in front of the fuel tank (behind the torsion bar mount on a short-bed) and connect the hoses to your stock 3/8" fuel line using the supplied fittings. The kit includes everything in the Single Kit picture below. The installation is very straight-forward and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. The brackets are laser cut 3/16" steel and come in a black, double powder-coated finish.
The filters for both kits are very affordable ($15-25) and are readily available locally or online. No filters you have to buy from us, although we do offer them for your convenience.
A Common Rail injection system is very sensitive to any contaminants, which is why better fuel filtration is so important in promoting long, healthy injector and fuel system life. The current refined diesel fuel, is not clean enough for these high-pressure injection systems. We recommend the use of a good, high-quality diesel fuel additive with each fill-up to further protect your complete fuel system and give it the proper lubrication needed. An easy to find one, nationwide at any auto parts store is either Stanadyne or Power Service.

Cummins Single-Filter Kit
Please Note: These Single Filter Kits were designed and produced for the 2003-2012 Dodge Cummins diesel, but may work on other years also. Our Single Filter Kit is more of a universal kit that only requires sandwiching to the frame and tapping into the 3/8" fuel line running inside the frame. The kit typically mount at the rear of drivers door underneath on a long-bed. On a short-bed, the kit will mount further up the frame rail directly behind the trailing arm mount. Returns are accepted with a 15% restocking fee and our shipping charges taken out. All returns must be approved by phone and in resalable condition which means mounting bracket not scratched, parts clean and the plastic still on the filters. Approximately 18-20" of open length on the frame is needed to install this kit.
